1. Apple picking in Julien

The perfect Fall date is undoubtably apple picking and the perfect place to do it is at one of the apple orchards in Julien, CA. Just north and East of San Diego, Julien sits in quaint mountains perfect for fall activities. Julien is known for its’ pie shops so make sure to stop into one of the shops for a slice! Spend the perfect date picking apples in the mountains.

2. Bates nut farm

From food, to pumpkins, to live entertainment Bates Nut Farm in East County San Diego has it all. The largest Fall attraction is the pumpkin patch open on September 18th, but make it a date by going to the Arts, Crafts, and Vintage market open October 2-3rd or take your dog to the halloween doggie costume contest on October 23rd.

3. old town haunted tour

Old Town, San Diego, is the location of the most haunted house in America per Travel Channels rankings. You can tour the Whaley House all through the year but the biggest crowds come out in October hoping to see a glimpse of one of the houses many specter guests. But that’s not all the spooky stuff happening in Old Town, take a date on one of the haunted tour trolleys for history and scares in San Diego!

4. Balboa Parks Japanese friendship garden

The Japanese Friendship Garden within Balboa park is one of the few places in San Diego you can see fall leaves. With a beautiful history the friendship garden is the perfect place to spend the day with someone. Stop by the cactus garden next door and see some of balboa parks favorite residents, the free range cats that live there!
